To the Editor:

  You, sir or madam, need an editor. To argue in a single paragraph that "rules were...ignored" and that what is needed is to "develop new ones" punctures your starting thesis. Get some sleep. Read your editorial critically before we do. Rewrite it. I'm sure there's an idea in there somewhere.
