To the Editor:
As professor Cole notes "The [C.I.A.'s torture] report is, to date, the closest thing to official accountability that we have". This is why the report--and not the sanitized executive summary of the report--must be made public.
For the rest, Cole gives us a long riff on post-hoc ergo propter hoc; CIA claims that some actionable intelligence was gained after torture in no way demonstrates that torture was necessary to get that intelligence.
